Paracord Bracelets

I’ve been doing paracord bracelets for a couple weeks now because I wanted one for myself, so I started learning how to make them and getting my paracord and buckles from Amazon.

Test of the Photo Cube

I finally pulled the trigger on getting a table top photography cube. Nothing elaborate, just enough to do what I need it for. A small 16 inch photography cube with 2 lights, tripod, and for background color sheets.

Two Replacements

Just replaced my two camera bags which were in good condition, but a little big (and a little heavy) when both cameras are in the one main bag.

The main bag, a AmazonBasics backpack for a SLR camera, I had purchased around last Christmas – I think – did a fantastic job, but when the NX300 and the D3200 and all their associated lenses, cables and chargers were in it had become a little heavy to carry around all day when I’m out taking pictures.
Since I rarely ever take both cameras out at one time, I decided to just keep them in separate bags so I started doing some research on the matter and ended up getting these two bags:

Yes I Am An Addict

I’ll admit it, I’m an addict. They say, the first step to recovery is admitting it.

From the Nikon D3200

I LOVE this camera!

The pictures that come from it are crystal clear and very clean! It’s one of my best cameras I own.

D3200_0026
D3200_0036

D3200_0044

The top three were from Instagram, that’s why they are square, but the last one is not. It’s been post-edited a little to give it a little darker look, which is what I like.

All of them were just after a rain and at the time I took them, it was still misting a little.

Nexus 7 Travel Cover is In!

My Nexus 7 travel cover finally came in – after getting a body mechanics book by mistake instead of the cover!

It’s hear and I’m happy to have it!

Nexus 7 Cover

I went ahead and got the “official Nexus 7 Travel cover”  and was looking at the “official Nexus 7 Dock” also.
(When I say “official”, I’m meaning the advertised products that were accessories for the Nexus 7 when it came out and sold in the Google Play store.)
Right now, I just need something to keep the Nexus safe. The rubber travel cover should do the trick. I know it’s probably made cheap, but I’m not that hard on any of my devices.

It’s Official

The new Google Nexus 7 just came in and I’m officially a “Pure” Google user!

A Few Photos from Today

It has rained everyday since Thursday (the 4th of July). No fireworks – not close enough to watch. The fireworks we usually go see on the fourth over in Alabama on the water was called off due to rain.. Sooooo…. I do what I normally do when I’m bored; I grab my cameras and walk into the backyard.

Not A One Man Job!

This is not a job for one person! It took 2 – 1/2 days for me to put this thing together.
I started at around 1:30 or 2:00 pm on Saturday and finished around 2:00 pm on Monday.

The above is the kit the project started out as.

InstaGram of 05-11-13

Some of my InstaGram pics of today. Half were taken with my Galaxy S3 and half were taken with my Nikon D3200.

The first one is/was just a test post to Path to see if Path was even working today. Seems its not working more than IS working these days.

A few from the backyard

Some of our blooming roses in the backyard.
I'm surprised that so many are left after 2 days of heavy rain.

Spring Is Definitely Here

Spring is definitely here and flowers are blooming all over the place.
We were in Eufaula, AL when I took this in my mother-in-law's yard.

I can always count on her flowers looking very good. She does a lot of work on them and it shows.

Dusting Off The Nikon

Since I got the Nikon D3200, I have used it a few times, but nothing like I did with the Nikon D100 I have.

Granted, I had the D100 way before phone cameras got to where they are today.

For quick and simple shots, I normally use my phone. But, when I do go out just to take pictures, I take the D3200. I haven’t gone out much lately. Most of my traveling has been for work and that leaves little time for taking pictures.

Typical Travel Day:

  • Up and leaving by 6:00 or 6:30 am to travel to Huntsville, AL, a 5+ hour drive. I normally arrive at the office in Huntsville around 11:00 or 12:00 (my time – EST).
  • Do the job(s) I’ve been sent there to do and by 4:00 or 5:00, I’m heading to my hotel room which is only a couple miles away from the office.
  • By the time I check in and get to my room, all I want to do is sit and relax.
  • Also, my travel days now are on Tuesday thru Wednesday. Tuesday is when NCIS and NCIS LA comes on and I’m NOT going to miss those shows if I can help it (and if they aren’t re-runs.

Back to the point; Dusting off the Nikon.. Open-mouthed smile

Today’s travel was to Montgomery, AL. 90 miles away.

At least I’m back at home for my shows tonight!! Open-mouthed smile

“Girl”

One of our cats named “Girl”. My granddaughter named her so that’s what we call her. She does have a sweet personality and loves her attention.

I’m not much of a cat person, but I do like our cats. Smile

Girl has put on a little weight since being fixed a couple of months ago.

From the Past

One of my plaques I received from the USS Henry Clay – SSBN 625 (Blue Crew) when I shipped over star (reenlisted for 6 years).

I reenlisted for the following “perks”:

  • Shore duty in Pensacola, FL
  • SETTS (school in Groton, CT)
  • “C” School (Groton, CT)
In all, after shore duty and schools, I would have had about a year and a half left on the 6 year reenlistment.
United States Navy – 1980 to 1986. I would have retired in 2000, but, my knees had other ideas.
Wikipedia Entry for the USS Henry Clay.
My 2nd boat I served on. The first was the USS Woodrow Wilson SSBN 624 (Gold crew)

More Stickers

I put the new sticker on my truck that I got when I ordered the tactical patches for my backpack

There is still space on both of the back side windows of my truck. :))

Forgotten Geopin

I had forgotten all about this geopin!
It came the a Celtic Cross geocoin.
I found when when I dug out my newest pathtag for some trades.

The Pathtag I mentioned:
