Nexus 7 v2 Purchased

I came across a great deal on the 4th of July (07/04/2014) after we got back from watching the fireworks on the River Walk downtown.
I had some money left in one of my accounts, so I went searching for different things. I was actually searching for an Asus ChromeBook, then it turned into a Asus and HP ChromeBox search and several other things. By accident, or whatever you want to call it, a Nexus 7 showed up in one of my searches.
I’ve been extremely happy with my Nexus 7 2012 model with one exception, no back-facing camera, but still extremely happy with it nevertheless.
I did a search for Nexus 7 2013 and looked through all the results. Everything was around $229 and above. I really didn’t want to spend that much, but one came up at $189 (plus tax). At first I thought it was a 2012 model but after reading the description on the site, it Is/Was a 2013 model.
Then I thought, “Is it a refurbished one?”
It didn’t say “Refurbished” anywhere on the product’s page – Asus Nexus 7 2013 with 16 gigs of space.
After thinking about it for a while, I finally pulled the trigger on it. On the page, it said I could pick it up at a local store as soon as I got an email it was ready to be picked up.

Hell, Ordered it on the fourth and get it the morning of the next day! Nothing wrong with that!

I’m currently backing up my 2012 model and I’m about to wipe it back to stock and give it to my granddaughter for her to use and her own tablet.
After getting the 2013 model, I was told some horror stories about others that have owned the same model.
I haven’t seen any of what was told to me about the others’ problems.
  • I have Unlocked the bootloader (with Wugfresh – the best thing out there for Nexus devices!)
  • Rooted with custom recovery
  • Upgraded from Kitkat 4.4.3 to 4.4.4
  • All Google apps upgraded to the latest and greatest
  • Installed Nova Launcher Prime
It’s running smooth as silk and all the hardware (touch screen and buttons) are working great..
The ONLY problem I have with it is that NONE of my accessories for my N7 2012 work with it, but tomorrow I plan on taking care of that with all new accessories for it. Smile
