Bye Bye Ferox

So, I stopped by a park today to sit and drink my coffee and chill for a bit.

I put my backpack on the picnic table, took out my pocket camera just to click off a few pictures.

I didn’t venture far from the table with my backpack and just walked around snapping a picture here and there.

I returned to the table, sat down and started checking Google+ and Facebook (mostly Google+). For some reason, I removed my Maxpedition Ferox from the backpack’s molle webbing to do something, which I cannot remember what I was using it for.

I remember folding up and setting it on the table and that’s the last time I remember seeing it.
I was posting back and forth with a friend on G+ and got distracted while packing up the camera and stuff.
I grabbed my coffee and backpack but I don’t remember picking up the knife…

Oh well.. It’s not like it was a high dollar knife, but I really did like it – everything about it. Also, I had just got it the way I like it – smooth opening, the blade lock worked really great. I could open it with one hand (thumb stud) easily.
It just really bums me out knowing I lost it and someone had an early Christmas / birthday.

Anyway, I have a Ka-Bar Gila coming in tomorrow and I’ll see if it can/will take the place of the Ferox. I’m hoping I’ll be happy with the K2 Gila, but I’m not holding my breath on it.

Another Organizer Pouch

Another Maxpedition Mini Pocket Organizer (in black) just came in for another bag I’m about to start using, but more on that on another post.
I got black because it was the cheapest and I’m not planning to attach it to the outside of the new bag. It will be for holding EDC items and stored inside the bag. I’ll probably get another one of these and probably a couple of larger organizer pouches for the new one.
My Kodiak Gearslinger will be converted to a different bag – either Go Bag, a Get Home Bag or a SHTF bag. Not sure yet about which purpose it’ll serve..


I’m not sure what going in this pouch yet – either things for my job, tools, or other small type items (first aid kit). We’ll have to see…

Two Replacements

Just replaced my two camera bags which were in good condition, but a little big (and a little heavy) when both cameras are in the one main bag.

The main bag, a AmazonBasics backpack for a SLR camera, I had purchased around last Christmas – I think – did a fantastic job, but when the NX300 and the D3200 and all their associated lenses, cables and chargers were in it had become a little heavy to carry around all day when I’m out taking pictures.
Since I rarely ever take both cameras out at one time, I decided to just keep them in separate bags so I started doing some research on the matter and ended up getting these two bags:
